Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 vs Nokia Asha 311 vs Micromax A75

Android has been the Apples of every smartphone aspirant eye. The market for android users has been soaring in terms of sales. No matter the price, there is a potential customer for every segment of Android smartphone. Indeed the users of Android operating system are increasing with each passing day. Well, I am not so fanatic about Android. But keeping myself in shoes of a middle class person, I am going to short list the best smartphone for you.

Here in this post I am going to do a brief comparison between medium budget smartphone and will tell you which is the winner smartphone between them. New galaxy s8 will also count Samsung’s best mobile phone.

Touchscreen Experience

Among Galaxy Y, Asha 311 and Micromax A75, clearly A75’s touch is the best among these smartphone.
The touch in Asha was found to be erratic at times and also was found to hang at other times because of Symbian. I owe its failure due to poor user interface somewhat.
In Galaxy Y, the touch experience was not so cool mainly due to Galaxy Y’s small touch screen of just mere 3 inches.
Hence Micromax A75 with a 0.75 inches larger screen, excellent touch is therefore a smooth winner.

Music Quality

All the three have the usual 3.5mm jack. I own skull candy smartphone and any smartphone compatible with it sounds extraordinary. But let us be realistic. I found that out of the 3, the overall music experience is best in Nokia Asha 311. The sound is pretty awesome with just the right decibel and in contrast the sound in Galaxy Y was suppressed and little hazy at high volumes.

Camera

The camera in Galaxy y is least of just 2 megapixels having 133 ppi. The camera in Micromax A75 and Nokia Asha 311 are equivalent to 3 megapixels with 154 ppi and 155 ppi respectively.  So clearly Galaxy Y is out of the competition and out of the other two, Micromax A75 camera of 3.15 megapixels won my heart. The 3.15 megapixels camera with flash in Micromax A75 is pretty steady and is best among the three.

Processor

Talking about the processor, Micromax A75 is just a 650 MHz whereas the Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 is having 832 MHz processor. Both of them comes with Android v2.3 OS. They can’t be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. And, Nokia Asha 311 which is a Symbian phone comes with 1 GHz processor. Though, Symbian is an outdated operating system compared to Windows or RIM or iOS or Android. Being an Android user, I will go with Samsung Galaxy Y S5360.

Battery Backup

Micromax A75 lacks here even because of having 1300 mAH Li-ion battery. Standby time is 288 hours whereas you can talk on phone for just 300 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 is having 1200 mAH, Li-ion battery and providing a standby time of 850 hours (2G) , 540 hours (3G). It provides an improved Talk Time of 515 minutes (2G) and 380 minutes (3G).

Nokia Asha 311 comes with 1110 mAH, Li-ion battery with standby time of 696 hours (2G) , 540 hours (3G). Talk time is similar to Samsung Galaxy Y that is 515 minutes (2G) and 360 minutes (3G)

So winner in this category is – Samsung Galaxy Y S5360.

Price

Micromax A75 : Rs. 5,975.
Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 : Rs. 6,399.
Nokia Asha 311 : Rs. 6,200.

Final Verdict

The old interface in the Asha 311 is pretty mundane and monotonous. Moreover Asha 311 has old Symbian series and is competing with Android operating system (laugh out loud). It is at times sad to see that OVI store having all the applications loosely inspired by Android.

The thing that I did not like about A75 is the funny little sound which I got while clicking photos. Also, the processor is quite low. You can’t play Angry Birds Space in it. If you are going to buy a Micromax product, you will be soon going to visit their service center. This is what my blogger friend Dhruv Bhagat had experienced. Battery Backup is also pathetic.

Talking about Samsung Galaxy Y, it comes with Bluetooth 3.0, brilliant battery backup and better operating speed. Also, don’t forget about the reliability factor of Samsung.
